Six new awards for La Mer Resort & Spa and four awards for the brand new The Chania Hotel
Leading government representatives, institutional organizations, and the most significant Greek travel companies participated in the Greek Hospitality Awards 2023. The Greek Hospitality Awards, the most prestigious institution rewarding Greek hospitality, were awarded for the 9th consecutive year under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and the Greek National Tourism Organization. The glittering #grha23 ceremony was held on Friday, October 20, at the Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel. It was televised simultaneously online from the LiveOn Expo Complex, an inventive 3D exhibition and conference center run by LiveOn, the Digital Business Communication and Events Platform, in addition to having a physical presence.
At the Greek Hospitality Awards, the Gelasakis Group of Companies' five-star La Mer Resort & Spa located in Kavros, Chania, was recognized once again, taking home a total of six awards. Three GOLD, two SILVER, and one BRONZE. The five-star newest addition to the Gelasakis Group of Companies family, The Chania Hotel, was also honored at the ceremony. The hotel which recently opened its doors and is situated in the heart of the «1866» Square, received four awards in total. Two SILVER, one BRONZE, and one GOLD.
More specifically, La Mer Resort & Spa won first place in the category Best Greek Honeymoon Resort for its exceptional hospitality to honeymooners, Best Greek Hotel Spa for its amazing and well-thought-out spa area, and Best Greek Hotel Breakfast for the distinctive experience of Greek and Cretan gastronomy that it offers to the guest with the certification of the "Greek Breakfast."The La Mer Resort & Spa received as well two SILVER awards for Best Greek Adults Only Resort and Best Greek Green Resort, respectively, for its superior adult-only experiences and environmentally conscious operations, and a BRONZE award for Best Greek Hotel Restaurant for its exceptional cuisine.
In the meantime, The Chania Hotel, won the GOLD award in the Best Greek New City Hotel category, keeping its title as the best modern urban hotel. The Chania Hotel took home two SILVER awards in addition to the GOLD one. Best Greek Heritage City Hotel for honoring and conserving a historical hotel landmark and Best Greek Design City Hotel for its distinctive design that combines the traditional with the contemporary style. As the heart of The Chania Hotel is in sync with the rhythm of the city, the hotel has finally added the BRONZE award to its collection in the Best Greek Lifestyle City Hotel category.
