Blue Flag at La Mer Resort & Spa

With a Blue Flag for 2019, the beach of La Mer Resort & Spa is awarded in the area of Dramia Georgioupolis, between the prefectures of Chania and Rethymno.

In particular, the Blue Flag at La Mer Resort & Spa was awarded by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, which is responsible for the management of Greece for this international program, as the beach of the hotel meets all the strict criteria concerning the purity of the water conservation, natural beauty, excellent coastal infrastructure, bathers' safety. It is noteworthy that this distinction is only given when water quality is judged to be "excellent"

The Blue Flag is a guarantee of quality in more than 45 countries and is awarded with strict criteria to organized beaches and marinas managed by coastal municipalities, hoteliers and other agencies.
The responsible operator of the program at the international level, the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education), in cooperation with the Coordinators of its member countries, is constantly updating the award criteria, making their implementation more and more rigorous.

La Mer Resort & Spa is, for 2019, one of the 515 award winning beaches, 15 marinas and 4 sustainable tourism boats in Greece that won the Blue Flag. The La Mer Resort & Spa, with particular emphasis on respecting the cleanliness of the waterfront, respects the natural environment and provides customers with food and welfare products that are exclusively organic.

The Blue Flag elevation event on La Mer Resort & Spa took place on Monday, July 15, 2019, at 20.00, attended by Mayor of Apokoronas, Mr. Koukianakis, Deputy Mayors, representatives of the Region and the Greek Tourism Organization, Administration, Staff and Customers of hotel.
